Is GoAlong a taxi service?
No. GoAlong is an intercity carpooling platform that connects drivers already travelling on a route with passengers travelling the same way. Drivers share actual fuel expenses rather than operating as commercial taxi providers. This is legal, non-commercial carpooling under the Motor Vehicles Act.
How is the fare calculated?
Your fare = (Estimated distance × fuel price per litre ÷ vehicle mileage) ÷ number of passengers. You pay only your proportional share of the driver's actual fuel cost — no taxi markup, no profit for the driver.
How are drivers verified?
Every driver on GoAlong submits their Driving Licence, Vehicle RC, and government-issued photo ID. Only verified drivers can publish rides. You also see their community ratings and trip history before booking.
