Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026 · Target Domain: goalongcars.com

1. Nature of the Service: Non-Commercial Carpooling

GoAlong (https://goalongcars.com) is an intercity ride-sharing platform that connects private vehicle owners traveling between cities with passengers seeking transportation along the same route. GoAlong is not a taxi aggregator or commercial cab hailing service. Rides are arranged strictly on a non-commercial, private fuel-cost-sharing basis in compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act.

2. Transparent Fuel Cost Sharing

Drivers agree that fares collected on GoAlong represent a contribution towards actual operating expenses (fuel, highway tolls, vehicle depreciation) and not commercial profit. Fares are calculated using a formula based on road distance, prevailing fuel prices, and vehicle mileage. Drivers may not charge commercial fares or solicit offline commercial payments.

3. Driver Obligations & Verification

Every driver who publishes a ride on GoAlong must possess a valid Indian Driving License, valid Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC), mandatory third-party insurance, and Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate. Vehicles must be private registered (white number plate) and maintained in roadworthy condition.

4. Passenger Conduct & Cancellations

Passengers must arrive punctually at the agreed pickup point. Cancellations may be made free of charge up to 2 hours prior to scheduled departure. Passengers agree to treat drivers and co-passengers with respect and follow vehicle safety rules (including wearing seatbelts).

5. Privacy & Communication

In order to protect personal privacy, direct contact information is not made public on search listings. Passenger and driver contact details are only shared once a booking has been confirmed on the platform.
